Have an Idea or Opinion for Regon 11 Kart Racing?
Our club president George Young recently attended the board meeting of the Northern California Track Association (NCTA).
The board of NCTA is comprised of one representative from each track in IKF region 11 and of the Medford Oregon track
in the next region north of us. We received a $2000.00 grant from the association just a few weeks ago. The meeting minutes
are available as a PDF file
<here>.
In addition, a proposal form is available as a
<PDF> or
<Word Document> to enable club members to have input
on race classes, how qualifying is conducted, the total number of races for the series, the number of
throw away races, the general format of the regional race events, etc, etc, etc.
After filling out the form it should be returned to George (
tyoungracing@yahoo.com) who will present it to the board.
The proposals should be submitted to George before the next NCTA meeting on Aug 29th. Make sure your
contact information is provided in case George needs to contact you with questions or clarifications.

2010 Race Schedule is now posted!
(check the Calendar page for all the dates)
Come out and help get the track ready with us on Feburary 6th and
then get your kart and gear together for practice on Feb
20 & 27. Our first race of the new decade is Sunday February 28th!
2010 Spec Tires
Even though
the tire poll votes were in favor of the MG's the board has
decided that it's in the best interest of the club to stick with IKF spec tires
- Bridgestone YKC's.
Deviating from IKF would exclude us from future events and
make it difficult for other racers coming from Norcal to race with MBK.
New Timing System
Great news!
We've purchase a used AMB timing system that is normally over $30,000
for under $10k!!!
This
is
the same system that ALL the other karts tracks have been using. Proven,
reliable, and great tech support.
Race Registration will remain the same. There will be a $20 AMB transponder
rental fee per race. We also have good used transponders with new
charging kits for $150 each. There will be no additional costs for
those of you that have your own AMB transponder...just the usual
registration.
Donations
are still needed!!
We
are still waiting for about half the people that said they would pitch
in for the timing system. We all know times are tough, but if it's in
your budget, we would greatly appreciate it. We only received about
$3000 from the members. The board members, George , EJ & John
have
all put in a total of $7000 of their "OWN PERSONAL" money to make this
happen. $10k AMB systems don't come around often, so we had to jump on
it immediately. Again, we are a NON-Profit org, so you will get a receipt for
end-of-year tax deductions.
